Kathie, Jess and Rob, Meghann and Jeremy, Natalie, Mackenzie and Riley, and extended family, you have all been in our hearts and prayers for continued strength as you navigate this huge loss. Bob always had a twinkle in his eye when talking about his girls- he loved you all so much! At All Saints, Windsor, I was blessed to work with him while co-ordinating the children’s and youth ministries. Bob was a wonderful teacher and mentor and was genuine in his commitment to share the Gospel, not only in words, but actions. He was always so supportive and ready to be a part of any activity, taking the opportunity to spend time with families.
This past Good Friday,I was reminded of past solemn Good Friday services at All Saints, with Jessica as crucifer, carrying the cross covered with a black cloth, leading the way to various stations as the Passion was read. Late night Christmas Eve services ended with Meghann and Ruthie on duelling piano pieces in the hall as they waited for their parents! One of my favourite memories was during a children’s focus when Bob told the kids that his favourite superhero was Xena, Warrior Princess! ( lots of giggles from the adults in the pews!). His sense of humour and joyful outlook on life was contagious. He was a true servant of God, who taught and guided many others, simply by his example and his kind words. I’m certain David Palmer is greeting him with an organ fanfare!
Hugs to all, Jane an Nelly
