Brian was a genuinely positive and cheerful person, always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him. I had the great pleasure of working with Brian in many different capacities at the Richmond Hill Public Library, over many years. No matter what the circumstances Brian was always cheerful and wonderful to work with. He was considerate, caring, resourceful and game for anything. I had the pleasure of working at Richvale Library for many years with Brian as manager. He was so very kind and respectful to all of us working there and had a great sense of humour. He was like a kid at Christmas when he was going home to see his family in Chatham and we all knew how much he loved his family and how he was loved by them. So sad he could not enjoy too many retirement years. A true gentleman and may he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Brian for many years at the library. He was a truly valued member of our team and was well-liked by both staff and patrons alike. His warm presence and willingness to help made a real difference to everyone who crossed his path. Staff at the Central Library, particularly those at the frontline, often recall how they could always count on Brian for support, especially during our busiest times. He was a steadfast and reliable presence, always ready to lend a hand. We truly regarded Brian not just as a colleague, but as a dear friend. Although I never had the good fortune of working with Brian I would often meet him at our Central branch where he was attending meetings and other events. Without fail, he was cheerful, smiling and always found the time to greet me and chat as he was running off to attend to business. He will be greatly missed by his friends, colleagues and patrons of Richmond Hill Public Library.

Sad to hear of Brian's sudden passing. I worked with Brian at the Richmond Hill Library as it transitioned in the early 90s from a small crowded 15,000 sq ft library to an enormous new 60,000 sq ft building. Brian was very much involved in documenting the building process and then managing a big and very busy circulation department once the new library opened. With thousands of people visiting the library each week it was nice to enjoy a coffee with Brian before we opened for business each day. We always enjoyed a good natured laugh about how somedays it was like working in the circus. Fair winds and following seas Brian.

Our sincerest sympathies Linda and Jennie on the loss of Brian. I have so many fond memories of our Walker family times together growing up as cousins - West Lorne visits, summer picnics, Thanksgiving, Christmas - so much laughter and fun!!
