Obituary of Ernest Brereton

Peacefully, at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, Ernest Brereton passed away in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Thelma (Smith) Brereton of 66 years together. Beloved father of Margaret and her husband Peter Carstensen of Florida and Janet of London. Loving pappa to granddaughter Delanya and husband Mark and great-pappa to Caleb and Emma Podgers all of Verona. Predeceased by grandson Tyson Carstensen of Kingston. Survived by brother Bill (Ruth) Brereton, sisters Lil McCartney of London and Beth Heath of St. Thomas, sisters-in-law Helen, Donna and Marion. Predeceased by sisters Edna Brereton and Bert Ings, brothers Charley and Alfred all of London, Walter of Cambridge and Abe Brereton, brothers-in-law Harry, Jack and Howard. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road (1 block east of Egerton St.) on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Teresa Corrigan officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or the charity of their choice.
