Obituary of Percy Garnet Mott

Percy Garnet Mott passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Victoria Hospital, London, at the age of 87. He was born June 15, 1934, in Belyeas Cove, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, Garnet and Minnie Mott, sister Rowena Mott, and his brothers, Gerald, Earl, and Russell Mott. He is survived by his sister Judy Urquhart (Bud), his daughter Noreen Spruyt (Richard), and son Jason Mott, his grandchildren Jacob (Kaylyn Reid), Tyler and Mark Spruyt, his sisters-in-law Betty, Frances and Irene, along with many nieces and nephews. Dad loved to drive and his first jobs were driving dump truck in New Brunswick and in Toronto, Ontario, where he moved in the late 50’s. He worked for Goodyear then with Ford Motor Company in Oakville. Dad worked on the line then loaded vehicles onto railcars for 10 years prior to retirement. He retired after 36 years in 1998. His brother Gerald and he built a cottage in Belyeas Cove in 1980 where he spent time in the summers visiting family and friends. He loved fixing things and was known to bake! He moved to London in 2000 from Mississauga. In London, Dad purchased his first house at the age of 66 where he lived up until his death. Dad loved going to his grandson’s hockey and baseball games. He enjoyed his home, the opportunity to garden, and to know and help the neighbours on his street. The help was reciprocated on Monday, August 23 when they came to his aid after he fell on his front step. Thanks to Brittany and Carol, Dad got the help he needed. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Village Green Community Church. All protocols will be followed.
