My deepest condolences. Remembering Theo Vlasis. I remember having many lively conversations on various topics with Theo Vlasis - and from time to time he would love to reminisce and tell me stories about his past - of when he was a young man - things about the army academy, his keen interest in electronics, his love of woodworking, gardening and not to mention lessons on the correct terminology and spelling of the Greek and English languages. He would tell me about his job working in a London company servicing electronic components where he became indispensable and helped them with some innovative ideas. He was very proud of that! When I was younger, I did not know Theo Vlasis very well. I was busy with family, my job and life. After my father died, I had more time to reflect on things. I began to recognize who my father was - as a man - a father - and what he wanted for me - but at that time I was too busy and did not realize this. It was about that time that Theo Vlasis and I started talking and having conversations together. By then I had learned to pay attention and listen to what he was saying to me. While talking to him, I saw another side of him beneath his seemingly gruff exterior. There was another side not fully understood by most people. I saw a softer side. A mellower side - something that was not immediately apparent. I saw in him his humanity. I also saw his dignity and pride - he was a special sort of man. When life that is near to you is lost, you begin to realize what you have lost. I mourn his passing and want to express my sincerest condolences to Thea Helene and all her family. Theo Vlasi may you rest in peace! John, Susanne and George Wogiatzis
