Obituary of Pansie Holmes

With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Pansie Holmes (Shean) July 1, 2021, in London Ontario in her 95th year. Born in Stratford Ontario to James and Marjorie (Crawford) Shean, she was the last surviving sibling. She was pre-deceased by brothers Wesley, Murray, James and Wayne and sisters Doris and Gail. She leaves behind her loving husband of 69 years, Donald Holmes. She met and fell in love with him in Stratford Ontario, and they were married there October 27, 1951. Always together, she travelled extensively in her younger years with her husband and made wonderful friends in Florida where they spent every winter. She had a lot of fun line dancing over the years and listening to country music. She had a heart of gold and family was always foremost in her thoughts. She had a close relationship with her two daughters Debra Bishop (Allen) and Janette Holmes (Gerry). Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She travelled once a week from London to Oakville to be with her grandsons Eastman and Cullen in their formative years and she travelled to Nova Scotia every February for the birthday of her twin grandsons Andrew and David. Five great-grandchildren: Charli, Anna, Riley, Drew and Blair called her Nanny Pan, and they were lucky to all have visited her in London in 2019. She kept up with computers and enjoyed getting the latest family news, photos and FaceTime conversations on her iPad. Our family would like to send special gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses and home care workers who helped Mom stay in her own home this last year and during her hospital stays at Victoria Hospital in London. Donations in Pan’s memory may be made to the London Health Science Foundation, in London Ontario. A family service will be held at a later date, due to Covid, at Avondale Cemetery. Online condolences may be made through Logan Funeral Home (519-433-6181) by visiting their website at www.loganfh.ca. Services: Burial Location Avondale Cemetery, Stratford ON.
