Obituary of William "Bill" John Murphy

Unexpectedly, at the cottage in Coe Hill, on Friday, April 2, 2021, Bill passed away in his 68th year. Beloved son of the late Betty (2015) & Gerald (1997) Murphy and brother of Gary (Jill), Gerald (Gloria), Mike (Connie), Charlene Bell (Tom) & Paul (Christine). Dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. Pre-deceased by Uncle Bill and Aunt Norine Murphy. Lovingly remembered by Aunt Doreen and Uncle Pete Schussler along with many, many crazy cousins. Bill will be missed by special friend Don, along with Don’s cats Ziggy and Cinder and many other longtime friends and co-workers. Bill had a long history in the restaurant industry with McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Arby's. His passion for the Montreal Canadiens often times caused some friendly bantering with friends and family. Bill was the third of six children and was the quiet one in the family but had a great dry sense of humour. He loved being at all the family functions - the pool party, the Murphy Picnic along with Christmas and family birthdays. He was much loved by all of us and will be so, so missed In light of Covid restrictions, we encourage you all to take a moment and remember Bill in your own special way... whether you raise a glass, recollect one of his classic one liners, share a fishing story, debate a trivia question, enjoy a hockey or a ball game, reminisce about that ‘lunch rush’, research the family tree, or connect with the great outdoors and share his love of fishing, hiking and canoeing. No matter your connection to Bill, know that we are all together in mourning the loss of a really great guy who had this habit of just showing up for a visit - often with a special something that he had found that he just knew would interest you. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, London. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca .
