Obituary of Louis Norman Carbone

Video tribute for Louis Carbone It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of LOUIS NORMAN CARBONE in his 93rd year, after a short illness at University Hospital (LHSC) in London. Loving husband of the late Elizabeth (Anne) Marie Carbone (Stewart). He was pre-deceased by his parents Fortin and Anna Carbone, and brother Dick Carbone. Lou is survived by his two children Rick Carbone (Karen) and Christy Faguy (Paul); two grandchildren Nicholas Faguy (Erin); Matthew Faguy; and 3 great grandchildren Anthony, Sofia and Joseph Faguy. Dear brother of Norma Carbone. Lou will be forever remembered for his improv comedy and friendly outgoing personality. He laughed easily and made others do so as well. He was an incessant tease and jokester. He and Anne's love of their pets and animals was immeasurable. Early in his life, Lou and Anne settled in Timmins where he was an avid sportsman. The Carbone brothers were always in the line-up for the Moneta fastball team. Later he joined the local curling club, where he mostly enjoyed the social aspect of the game. Louis' working life began as a sheet metal worker for many years, but he gladly traded that in to follow his Father's dream of selling ice dream (frozen custard) as an owner/operator of the Tastee Freeze/Pine Dairy Bar. Lou and Anne retired to London, Ontario for more family time and less snow. Golf became his next challenge and favorite pastime. His golf family are envious of his hole-in-one achievement. After mastering that game, he spent many afternoons pontificating at the Cherryhill Mall. His friends there will surely miss his "Cheers like" reputation. A deep sense of faith gained momentum through his years but really began with his family's regular attendance at the First Baptist Church and then the Grace Bible Chapel in Timmins. Lou found much comfort and solace there. He was also a loyal Mason and served as Potentate in the Shriners. The family would like to thank Sab, Veronica, Melanie and Ingo for their tremendous support and kindness over the many years. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Ziada, the nurses and support staff at LHSC for the comfort they provided Dad during his stay there. Donations may be directed to the London Health Sciences Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home 648 Hamilton Road, London Ontario (519-451-9350). Given the current community health restrictions, Louis' life will be celebrated by the family, in private.
