Obituary of John Beacom Carson

At Parkwood Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2006, John Beacom Carson of London in his 81st year. Beloved father of Nanci & her husband Ken Murdoch of Brampton and Brad & his wife Stephanie Carson of London. Loved by 6 grandchildren Scott, Alicia, Kendra Murdock and Jillian, Michael & Conor Carson. Dear brother of Betty McNamara, Bill Carson, Lulu Carson, Bob & his wife Mary Carson, Ed & his wife Helen Carson and Lenore & her husband Don Hayman and many nieces & nephews. John was a past Master of Union Masonic Lodge #380 A.F and A.M and a 50 year member, a past First Principal of London Chapter R.A.M, past Preceptor of Richard Couer de Lion Preceptory, and past Provincial Grand Prior Knights Templar. First Grand Master for Canada Allied Masonic Degrees, and a member and officer of other branches of Masonry, a member of Mocha Shrine for over 50 years. He was a past Master of Hackett LOL 805, and a past County Master of the Orange Order. A member of St. Paul's Cathedral and an original member of Server's Guild. He was a Past President and long time Treasurer of the Irish Benevolent Society and recipient of the initial Leprechaun award for devoted service to the Society. In politics he was an active worker and member of the Conservative Party for many years. John will likely be most fondly remembered by the hundreds of couples he married from University Professors to big time lottery winners who can always say they were married by Johnny Carson, not quite as famous as the retired TV personality of the same name. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Thursday 7:30-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7:30-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 11 am with The Very Rev. Terry Dance officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A Masonic Service under the auspices of Union Lodge #380 will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm. Orange memorial service will be held on Friday evening at 7 pm.
