After a tremendous and a courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Christos Koumoutsidis in 81st year.
He is survived by his much adored and loving wife, Lili (Dimitropoulos) of 58 years. Affectionately loved by his children Jim (Roula) Koumoutsidis and Vallary (Nick) Vlitas. Cherished by his two granddaughters, Christina and Constance who were his greatest treasures.
Survived by his sister Maria (Elias) Bouterakos (Australia) and his brother John (Rosalia) Koumoutsidis (Windsor). Predeceased by his brothers Taki (Vasiliki), Stefanos (Tasia), Paraskevas (Pitsa) and George (Toula) Koumoutsidis.
Christos was born in Paleo Panagia, Greece. As a teenager he immigrated to Canada to pursue his dreams. He started his dream working at the London Hotel. In 1963 he married his beloved wife, Lili. Together they raised their children with unconditional love. In 1971 he purchased his first restaurant, 111 Waterloo, he then moved on to Chris’ Restaurant and lastly 200 Queens; he semi-retired and invested in rental properties. He conquered all adversities in life with a determination to succeed. He leaves behind a legacy that will prevail within his wife, children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank University Hospital, Dr. Gagnon and the exceptional staff at St. Mary’s 2 for all their wonderful care. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his memory be eternal.
