Obituary of John Koziol
John Koziol, 78, died peacefully at home after an exhausting battle with cancer on Thursday, March 9, 2006. He was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Koziol (nee Andruch), and his six daughters Carol Koziol of London, Jane Arnott and her husband Ken of London, Natasha Koziol of London, Valerie Koziol of Barrie, Ann Marie Simone and her husband Ron of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Andrea Koziol and her husband Thomas Neuspiel of Toronto. "Dedo" will be missed by grandchildren Luke, Brock, Ben, Calvin, Erika, Kurtis, Kyra, Teri, Sacha, and Isabella. Also survived by his niece Doris. Predeceased by parents, Gregor and Natalia, by brother Fred, and by nephew John. John was born in Porichya, Belarus (Poland) in 1927 and emigrated to Canada in 1939. He taught at Beal Secondary School, retiring in 1986. He was a gifted musician and loved the solace of nature. His presence will be missed. At John's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family funeral will be held. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada. Heartfelt thanks to the St. Elizabeth Health Care CCAC Team and the St. Joseph's Palliative Care Team.
