I was getting to know Thomas in the last few years. He was quiet but would come out with something thoughtful. He knew I had lost someone, so when he saw me he said some kind words of condolence that touched me. At the same time I noticed he was dressed "all in black". When I joked he looked like Johny Cash, he laughed and broke out a few lines from a "Boy Named Sue"! Ha! Thomas was always a surprise
