Obituary of Ioannis John Liabotis
The Lord called our beloved servant Ioannis John Liabotis to rest. He died peacefully in his home on January 6th at the age of 83.
Loved husband to Demetra for 54 years.
Father to Elias (Andrea) Liabotis of Michigan and Pauline (Dimitri) Tsaprailis of Sarnia.
Cherished grandfather and focus of his life: Alexis, Ioanna, Ioannis, Georgios and Kostas who he loved dearly.
Dear brother of Vasili (Shannon) Liambotis, Kosta (Thoula) Liambotis of London, Petro (Vagelia) Liambotis, Georgia (Marcos) Mandronis, and Niki (Niko) Ntanos of Greece.
Ioannis immigrated to London Ontario in 1966 for a better life in Canada. In 1972, he married Demetra in Greece and both returned to Canada where he worked at General Motors for 32 years. He was a lifelong member and supporter of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and Community and served as a President of Syllogos Psili Vrisi for many years. He was a past supreme president of Ahepa and lead in the World Pan Arcadian Congress. He enjoyed singing in the Arion Church Choir and coached soccer for Apollo where he shared his passion for the game.
Visitation will be held at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 3:00- 5:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Konstantine Chatzis officiating.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
