Obituary of Gianoula Karigianis
Gianoula Karigianis, 93, passed away on April 1st, 2026 in London, Ontario.
Born on June 10, 1932, in Dorizas, Greece, Gianoula was the child of Alexandros and Eleni Zacharopolous.
She dedicated her life and career to the care of others as a member of the St Joseph’s Hospital Team and as a mother and grandmother. Gianoula is survived by her four grand children, John, Evan, Nicole and Elias, and her great grand child, Sebastian. They were predeceased by her husband Nick, and her two sons John and Speros.
She was lovingly cared for by the staff at Elmwood Place in her final years.
Gianoula was known for her compassion, strong will and unwavering dedication to her family. She showed love in simple meaningful ways like baking bread each day for the family and guests she welcomed into her home. She ensured no one would ever leave her home hungry. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, kindness, and strength to persevere through the hardest times.
Friends and family will be received at the Logan Funeral Home on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 2-4 pm. Funeral Service will be held at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W, on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 11 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
Those who wish to make a memorial donation in her name, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca
