Chris had a student tenant who had his bike stolen from Chris's garage. Chris promptly had a new replacement bike for the university student.
I was Chris's neighbor, we shared many stories of our passion for the outdoors and kayaking.
I will greatly miss him but am comforted in the knowledge he has arrived in his eternal home.
Peace and blessings to the family, he was a great guy to know!

Our condolences to to Ember, Adam, Mason and the grandchildren. It was quite the shock to hear the sad news of Chris's passing. As I write this I am surrounded by photos of weddings, newborns, graduations and family gatherings of Chris and Wendy. There was always so much life in him, planning for the next camping or canoe trip with my Dad (Harvey)....who always looked forward to the next journey,
I never heard Chris utter a bad word about anyone and when he spoke, it was with a calmness, never raising his voice. He always had a story to tell and an answer (usually funny) at the ready. The only time I can remember him caught for words was at the supper table here, when he and Wendy were engaged, and Mom (Ruth) asked Wendy about family "expansion". Wendy quickly replied saying that she would like to have 10 kids........Chris almost choked on the piece of cake in his mouth as he fell off his chair. That was the only time I can remember him not having a quick, and humorous, reply.
Dad and Mom loved Chris as if he was one of their own and Wendy now has the companionship of the love of her life. We have the memories to cherish and keep.
.
I wish I could hug you all, sharing in your sorrow but health will keep me from attending the funeral . I will watch the Livestream
Our thoughts and prayers are with you for the wonderful man, Father and Grandfather Chris was. May he live in your hearts forever.
Uncle Ted, Laura and Charles.

It's with shock and sadness that Chris is no longer with us. My condolences to his family and all who loved him and were close.
A number of years ago Chris and I did a camping/Canoe trip on the Rainy River in Northern Ontario. He had a canoe that would hold all our camping gear, and designed a side mount motor that took away the need to paddle. We spent nights on various rocky islands on the river, setting up tents and preparing food. Chis was the experienced camper/adventurer and I survived the trip by following his direction. Lots of great memories.
Recently, Chris would fill in for me at a Euchre Group when i couldn't make it, and our paths would cross occasionally at lunches hosted by a friendship group. He will be truly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
