Obituary of Julie Avola

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Juliett Ann Avola (née Calcutt) on June 24, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born on May 16, 1938, in Coventry, England, Juliett was one of four daughters. At the age of 18, she courageously immigrated to Canada, where she built a wonderful life and met the love of her life, George Avola. Together, as Georgio & Juliett, they shared an extraordinary 67 years of marriage, creating a close-knit family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Juliett enjoyed a long and successful career as a Loans Officer with CIBC, where she worked for more than 30 years. She was respected for her dedication, professionalism, strong work ethic, and warm, welcoming personality.

Above all, Juliett's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, George Avola; her children, Dean, Linda (Paul), and Glenn (Effie); her grandchildren, Chantal (Sean), Erik (Nina), Ryan (Savneet), Delanie (Matt), Kayle (Justin), Maeson, Candice (Gary), Mark (Caitlin), and Ben (Alicia); and her 14 treasured great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Juliett will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her vibrant spirit, her enthusiastic (off key) singing and her deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. Whether she was leading a conga line at a family celebration, sharing a laugh, or offering honest advice, she had a remarkable ability to bring people together and brighten every room she entered. She faced life's challenges with determination, resilience, and grace, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will remain her enduring legacy.

Juliett will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Rd. W., London, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00AM.  Interment at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

The Memorial Mass will be livestreamed by St. George's Parish.  Just prior to the service, visit their YouTube Chanel HERE at https://www.youtube.com/@springbankcatholic where's Julie's service will be the most recent video.
