Obituary of Bill Winter
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family after a lengthy and courageous illness, William "Bill" Winter passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026, in his 63rd year.
Bill will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 23 years, Susan "Sue" Winter. Cherished father, best friend, and greatest supporter of his pride and joy, Will Winter. Predeceased by his parents, William and Nancy Winter, and is lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Janet, brothers-in-law, John and wife Lisa and Richard, as well as his niece Olivia and nephews Scott and Max, neighbours, and best friend Tamara. Predeceased by his brothers Jon and Robert.
Bill thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors, camping, shooting his slingshot, and a good explore in an antique shop.
Throughout his illness, Cancer and Parkinson's, Bill's determination and strength were fuelled by the unwavering love of Sue and Will. Their care, encouragement, and constant presence gave him every reason to keep fighting. Sue and Will meant everything to Bill. He treasured every moment spent with Sue and Will, and one of his proudest memories was watching Will pursue his passion for baseball. Bill took immense pride in seeing his son earn a spot on the Strathroy Select Baseball Team this year, celebrating every milestone along the way.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Tamara and all the doctors and nurses for the compassionate care, kindness, and endless support shown to Bill throughout the years. Your dedication and care will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Bill's name are asked to consider VON Middlesex-Elgin or an RESP Education Fund established for his son, Will.
