Obituary of Peter Demetrios Andriakopoulos Andros

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Peter (Panagiotis) Demetrios Andriakopoulos Andros, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully in London, Ontario on July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Peter is survived by his children, Demetri (Soula), Marisa, and Phil (Chelsey); his cherished grandchildren, Sia, Kallie, Athena, and Sofia; his sister, Katina; and a large extended family in both Canada and Greece.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Andros (née Kapelos); his parents, Demetrios and Maria; his brothers, George and Aleko; and his brother-in-law, Andreas.

Born in Leontion, Greece, Peter proudly served as a Lieutenant in the Greek Army before immigrating to Canada. Through determination, perseverance, and hard work, he completed his education at both the University of Thessaloniki and the University of Western Ontario, becoming the first Greek dentist in London, Ontario. For more than 35 years, Peter built a respected practice where he was known for his expertise, kindness, and genuine care for his patients.

Peter was a man of enduring strength, integrity, and generosity. He believed deeply in the value of hard work and helping others.

One of Peter’s greatest joys was his family. He took pride in watching his children grow and flourish while supporting them with encouragement, guidance, and unconditional love.

He also found immense fulfillment in being a grandfather. Spending time with his four granddaughters, or "koukles," as he lovingly called them, were treasured moments — especially their cherished ice cream dates. Their laughter and love filled his heart, and being their "Pappou" was one of the greatest blessings of his life.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many physicians, nurses and professional health care staff for their compassion and kindness provided to Peter with special thanks to Dr. Aric Sudicky, Dr. John Lenehan and Dr. Kirk Hamilton. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the exemplary care from the late Dr. Agron Alija.

Those wishing to honour Peter's memory through a donation are invited to support the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre, the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH), or the St. Joseph's Hospice of London.

Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Peter's legacy lives on through his family, friends and the countless lives he touched.

                   He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Logan-Evans Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
