Celebration of Frank's Life
Obituary of Frank Albert Banfield
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank Albert Banfield, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on July 24, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 16, 1935, in Grenada, Frank's journey through life was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to service and family.
Frank was the cherished son of Walter and Rica Banfield, and he is now reunited in peace with his parents and his brothers Fred, Ralle, Herb, Roy, Bill, and Keith. His legacy of love and kindness lives on through his devoted wife of 33 years, Pearl Kim Lee, his son Darren, his step-daughters, Natalie and Nicole, his two sisters Daphne and Joyce, and his brother Adrian, who will continue to carry his spirit in their hearts.
Never one to be confined by age or expectation, Frank pursued higher education at McGill University at the age of 59, earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Social Work. His passion for helping others defined his career, transitioning from a successful entrepreneurial career in carpet and upholstery to a dedicated social worker and therapist until his second retirement at 80. Post-retirement, Frank authored a self-published book, Vunga Tales of an Island Boy. Frank's professional journey was one of transformation, embodying the values of compassion and service.
An active and proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Frank found joy in his community and faith. His remarkable capacity for optimism and his infectious ability to laugh at himself endeared him to all who knew him. An avid sports enthusiast, Frank enjoyed following the Blue Jays and was a dedicated fan of soccer, always eager to engage in lively conversations about his favorite teams.
