Obituary of Andy Peters

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Peters on August 21, 2026, at the age of 75.  Born on June 26, 1951, in Herveld, Holland, to parents William & Joanna Peters.

Andy will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, of 52 years, Geraldine (Berkelmans) Peters and sons Michael & B.J.  Cherished grandfather of Hannah, Keegan, Kaylee, Aiden & Ashley.  Dear brother of Hendrika (deceased) & Bert (deceased) Veens, Mary (Bert - deceased) Centen, Wilma (Victor) Veens, Henry (Jacoba) Peters, John Peters, Irene (deceased) (Gerry – deceased) Veens, Tony (Mary) Peters, Bert (Liz) Peters, Joanne (Terry) Shepherd, and brother-in-law of Joanne (Joe) Koot, Joe (Chris Chandler – deceased) Berkelmans, Herriette (deceased) (Pete) DeJong, Rosemary (Jack) Caris, Mary Ann (Ron) Laskey (Pete Verbern – deceased), John (Anita) Berkelmans & Paul (Heather) Berkelmans.  Andy will also by missed by many nieces & nephews and the many lives he & Geraldine touched during their time as foster parents.

Andy was a devoted family man whose greatest pride and joy was seeing his family succeed and knowing that those he loved were happy and well.  His generosity, kindness and genuine care extended far beyond his family, touching the lives of friends, neighbours and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Andy was also deeply committed to his community.  For 10 years, he was involved in municipal politics, dedicating his time and energy to making his municipality a better place for his family, friends & neighbours.

A lifelong lover of flowers and the beauty of nature, Andy made his living as a gardener, a trade that suited his patient nature and appreciation for the simple beauty of a growing garden.  Even throughout his illness Andy would help his beloved wife Geraldine at her flower shop, Jim Anderson Flowers.  He was equally respected as a farmer, earning admiration of his friends and neighbours through his hard work, knowledge and generosity.

Andy lived a life rooted in family, friendship, hard work, foster parenting and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to bloom in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved this man simply known as “Andy”.

Celebration of Andy's Life will be held at the Logan-Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 1-4 p.m.
