Obituary of Terry Allen Stride
Terry Stride, age 50, passed away on September 10, 2026, as a result of a motor vehicle collision. Terry is survived by his loving wife Janis Kilgar and his sons Jase & Robbie. Dear son of Linda & the late Tony Stride. Terry will be remembered by his brothers Vaughn (Cathy) Steen, Shane (Miriam) Steen, Michael (Becky) Stride; sisters Jennifer & Crystal and sister-in-law & close friend Jennifer Kilgar. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Terry will be missed by his cats; Blaze, Sally, Diamond & “Middy”.
The most important thing to Terry was his family. He was dedicated to, and so proud of his two boys and wife and would brag about them to anyone who would listen. He was also very proud of his Mi'kmaq heritage. He worked so hard to provide for his family, but also loved planning fun, memorable adventures together which will always be cherished. He loved taking family road trips, a medium regular Tim's in hand, especially to Nova Scotia, one of his favourite places. He loved to golf and was grateful to have had the opportunity to play on world class courses on Cape Breton Island.
Whether it be at work or home, he was always willing do the hard work. Friends, family or coworkers could ask anything of him, and he would be there. He wanted to make people happy and was a kind, gentle, generous and very thoughtful man. He had a playful, down to earth sense of humour and enjoyed making people laugh.
He was passionate about the Blue Jays and was so excited when they made the World Series. He loved going to see them in Toronto and would talk to anyone about them at any time. His dream was to one day see a game in all 30 stadiums. Some of his favourite hobbies included watching baseball and hockey, movies and historical documentaries, bingo, cooking, puzzles and he always looked forward to family poker parties. Music was so important to him and he felt the lyrics deeply. Christmas and Halloween were his favourite holidays and he made sure to make them special. He always made time to play his son's favourite Mario games, especially Mario Kart.
Terry will be remembered for his love of animals especially his cats who miss him dearly.
Terry had big hopes and dreams. He is incredibly loved and is terribly missed.
