Obituary of "Bill" Desmond William Colbridge
Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, with family by his side, on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Parkwood Hospital, London. “Bill” Desmond William Colbridge, of London, in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Ruth and father of Don Colbridge, Rick & Kim Colbridge, Wayne & Gerda Colbridge, Wendy Colbridge (Leo), Ray & Elaine Colbridge, Kim & Allen Ward, Debbie Johnson (Jesse Walker), Anne Marie & Dave Lee, MaryLou & Ed Roberts, Patricia May (Stephen Sysiuk) and Walter & Lisa Chisholm. Cherished grandfather of 26 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. Bill retired from the military after serving 5 Tours of Duty in WWII, Korean War, Cypress, Germany & Alert. Bill also was a member of Victory Branch Legion #317 and a longtime employee of London Transit Commission (L.T.C.). Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), London, on Wednesday from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the Evans Chapel on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Scott officiating. Cremation & Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service under the auspices of Royal Canadian Legion, Victory Branch #317 & the R.C.R. (Royal Canadian Regiment) will be held in the Evans Funeral Home Wednesday at 7PM. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
