Obituary of Hilda Phyllis Nichols
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Hilda Phyllis Nichols on May 10th, 2012 at Victoria Hospital in her 87th year. Born on March 10, 1926 to parents Phyllis and Henry Nichols.
Sister of the late Harold Nichols. Survived by nieces Regina Renaud (Edward) and Pat Prosser, nephew Fred Nichols (Beverlea) and Scott Prosse, Mark & Heather Nichols and long time friend Alice Richings.
Scouting was Hilda’s calling in life. She devoted many hours to the London Guild. Awarded Bar to the Medal of Merit; B-P Guild of Canada Recognition Award; Scouts Canada – Volunteer Services Award for 60 years Dedicated Service and Ontario Government Award 60 years Volunteer Service. Member of St. George’s Anglican Church and also volunteered services at LHSC – Victoria Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years.
A Service of Celebration for the life of Hilda Nichols will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 227 Wharncliffe Rd. N., on Monday, May 14th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Gwen Fraser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
Donations in Memory of Hilda can be made to St. George’s Anglican Church – Century Building Fund, Scouts Canada London Council – Camp Sylvan Capital Fund or The Lung Association – Elgin London Middlesex.
Special thanks to nurses and doctors at Victoria Hospital and staff at Queen’s Village Retirement Home who cared for Hilda during her final time with us.
