Obituary of Madeleine Julia George (Smith)

Peacefully, at Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home, on Friday, January 21, 2011, Madeleine passed away in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Peter George and the late Alfred H. Smith. Loving mother of the late Larry Smith. Dear sister of Hilda Smith, Mary Walmsley & Ruth Phillips and predeceased by sister Thelma Fedoration & brother Ken Pawley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Madeleine was the longtime owner of Madeleine’s Wool Shop on Hamilton Road. Family and friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Sunday from 2-4pm. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment later in Dorchester Union Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
