Obituary of Frank Walton
Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, with family by his side, at University Hospital, on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in his 84th year. Loving husband of Phyllis (Benner) & predeceased by wife Eileen. Beloved father of Patricia Nyssen-Perrin (Brian), Daniel Walton (Marilyn), Robert Walton (Heather), Susan McLeish (James) & the late Linda Radar. Survived by Frank Hurst (Marie) & family. Also predeceased by son-in-law John Nyssen, brother Jack Walton (Carol), sister Helen O’Grady & brother-in-law Ken Bateman. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean Bateman, George Walton (Pat) & brother-in-law of Wes O’Grady. Frank will be dearly missed by the Benner family, special friend Dennis and many nieces & nephews. He will be forever remembered as a musician whose amazing talent touched many. Frank was a proud volunteer as the lead saxophonist with the concert Shriner’s Band and was a valued member of the Swing Shift Jazz Band. A Memorial Service will be held at the Mocha Shriners Temple, 468 Colborne Street, on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Grove Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., (519) 451-9350, entrusted with arrangements.
