Obituary of Margaret-ann Durward
Margaret-ann Durward (Revell) a.k.a. Mom, Grandma, Aunt Marg, Dagwood, Maggie, Toni, Trigger May 29, 1937 … December 7, 2007 In her 71st year of adventure on this earth, at home in London on Friday, December 7th, encouraged by a small contingent of the many who loved her, Margaret-ann took the hand of the man she loved, and joined Leo in heaven. She leaves behind children Michael Revell (Kathy) and Maureen Gillian, grandchildren Adina (Jesse), Matthew (Tania), Ashley, and Lauren, and great-grandchildren Conroy and Mulone. Marg was also “Mom” to an army of surrogate kids who loved her including: Christine, Christopher and Dorothy. Margaret-ann was the first born to predeceased parents Robert Revell and Rachel (Sherk); and big-sister to Elizabeth Hardy, Bob Revell (Shirley), David Heatherington (Susan), Linda Black (Robert), Judy Chafe (the late John Revell). “Aunt Marg” loved hats, cats (Sim was her favorite), crafting greeting cards, and gift giving. Everyone, including her many nieces and nephews always got a little something. Her Christmas gift list was longer than the 401, and her generosity was legendary (and a little quirky). Through the years Margaret-ann poured her passion and talents into many good causes and organizations including: Namerand, Sing-out London, Optimist Club, Rotary, Alma College, Ark Aid, The Ovarian Cancer Society, and the ACW organization. It was her wish for immediate cremation. Friends can be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton) on Thursday, December 13th between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and join us on Sunday, December 16th 2007 at East London Anglican Ministries Church, 2060 Dundas Street, at 1:30pm for a memorial service in celebration of her life. Our thanks to the many people who helped make Mom’s last four years incredible including: Dr. Janice Kwoen, Dr. Ingrid Harle, VON’s Trudi, Mora, and Noela, PSW’s Jenny, Katherine, and Marilyn; the Community Care Access Centre, London Hospice and of course–Anne. Mom was a gentle soul, with a warm heart, quick to turn the other cheek, and offer a hand. Margaret-ann loved God, her church, and dancing. Now she dances with angels. We’ll love you always. Online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca.
