Obituary of Eileen Joan Edwards
EDWARDS, Eileen, Joan May 13, 1928 - February 6, 2022
Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital in her 94th year. Missed deeply by her loving husband of 70 years, Derek Edwards. A beloved mother to Kevan (Christine) and treasured Nana to Brendon (Jaime), Deanna (Matt) and Great Nana to Benjamin Edwards. Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews both in Canada and England. Proceeded in death by siblings Edith, Irene, Helen, Dorothy, Florence, Ivy, Alice, Violet, George, Phyllis, and parents George and Emma Poplett. Eileen was born in Redhill England and moved to London ON Canada in 1958. Eileen was a partner in the family owned catering business with her husband as well as an avid gardener who took great pride in her flower and well-manicured shrub gardens. She loved to bake and make special treats for her family during the holidays. The family’s favourite memories with her include time spent at Lake Huron on summer weekends at their travel trailer and trips to Minnesota to visit her grandchildren. She will be missed forever but forever loved.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 12-1. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the Evans Chapel at 1pm. To honour her memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Health Foundation, in London ON, www.childhealth.ca
