Obituary of Willena Woolford

After a very courageous and sometimes frustrating battle with Alzheimer’s, Willena (MacLellan) Woolford, in her 74th year at the Dearness Home, on Saturday September 8, 2012. As in life, Willena was surrounded by her loving and dedicated family as she made her final journey to eternal peace and contentment. Born in Glace Bay, NS daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy MacLellan. Willena has lived in London for the last 50 years. She was a long time employee of Club House Foods and a contributing member of the Maritime Club for 20 years. Loving mother of Christine Isen (Wayne) of London and Jimmy Woolford (Stacie) of Calgary B.C. Cherished grandmother of Paige, Jordan, Kyan and Blayke. Sister of Shirley (John), Mamie (Fred-deceased), Flora (Keith) all of London, Diane of Glace Bay, NS and Darlene (Joe) of B.C., 3 brothers, Bobby (Joanne), Albert Paul of London and James (Donna) of Glace Bay, NS. She will also be sadly missed by her special cousin, Bella. Gramma Lena to many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by family and friends in Canada and the United States. Friend of Lannie Porteous and children for many years. Predeceased by her brothers, Roddie, Charlie, John Norman and Peter and in-laws Vic and Millie Woolford. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation on Wednesday at the Evans Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. A celebration of Willena’s life will take place at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road, London (1 block east of Egerton) on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
