Obituary of Edward Alfred "Ted" Reeve

Born in Toronto, Ontario on February 18, 1932, Ted passed away surrounded by the love of his family on December 15, 2021, in St. Thomas, in his 90th year. Survived by his best friend, wife, June Hodgins-Reeve, and his children, Charlene, Corey, Elizabeth (Don), Jayne, Steven (Veronica), Jamie (Wendy), and Kevin (Brigitte). He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Suzanne, Sharon, and Marny, his 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as 3 generations of nieces & nephews. Ted was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred and Arthur, his brothers-in-law Carl and Robert and sister-in-law Cecilia. He will be fondly remembered by his special friends, Jack and Sandra, Pastor Junior, Arthur, Clarence, Mary, Glenna, Barb and Mike, and Melissa (who phoned Grampa every day for over 2 yrs.). He was honest, humble, and kind, always! That was Ted. He and June were married for 26 years, which he said were the best of his life. He spent these years singing in his beautiful bass voice, playing the guitar and witnessing in word and song wherever he went. Ted loved to go to gospel concerts, where he and Jack would always arrive 1 hour early. He was passionate about music, fishing, and playing golf. In 2016, at the age 84, he won the "Willows Men’s League" match play tournament. That same year he got his second hole in one. Ted sang Country & Western music in the Toronto and London area before accepting Jesus, as his personal saviour, in 1993, at the age of 61. He then became "Ted, the gospel singer". He & June travelled thousands of miles, singing as The "Two Hearts-One Melody" gospel group. Ted always said "I don’t regret a mile that I travelled for the Lord." He loved to witness and spread The Good News. Ted had a great sense of humour, loved to laugh and visit with family and friends. He was an attentive listener. Ted sang for Jesus but all were invited to listen. He had a "Closer Walk with Thee" Lord, thanks to God’s "Amazing Grace". Celebration of Ted's Life will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, on Saturday, June 25, at 10 am. Evans Funeral Home, 519-451-9350, entrusted with arrangements.
