Obituary of Arris "Steve" Smyrnios
It is with great sadness that the Smyrnios family announces the passing of Arris "Steve" Smyrnios on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Victoria Hospital at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Carol "Kali". Loving father of Soula (Paul) Kostas, Bill (Julie) Smyrnios and Helen (Bona) Chevarie. Cherished papou of his four grandchildren Nicole, Stephen (Apollonia), Alex (Amanda) and Dean. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Fotini Smyrnios (wife of his deceased brother Spiro) and nephews Bill and Peter Smyrnios (Nantia).
Fondly remembered for his love of family and food.
Born in Paleopanagia Greece in February of 1935 to the late Basili and Aspasia Smyrnios. He emigrated to Canada in 1954 where he began his life's work in the food service industry. Steve was the proud owner of the Chelsea Green Restaurant for 20 years.
The family would like to thank the ICU at Victoria Hospital for their care during the last few weeks of his life.
Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St., (between Colborne & Waterloo St.), on Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 pm with prayers at 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road West, on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Demetre Mouselimis officiating.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
