Obituary of Angus Jaynes

Surrounded by his loving family, Angus "Bus" Jaynes passed away at McGarrell Place on October 27, 2012, at the age of 92. He is survived by his daughters Linda (Richard) Rickards of London and Brenda (William) Skillings of Woodstock, his grandchildren Karrie (Jason Bestard) Skillings, Rick (Megan) Skillings, Jeffrey Skillings, Janine (David) Murphy, his great-grandchildren Sydney and Ethan Skillings, Abby Skillings, Nathan Murphy, Alyssa Leboldus, as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his step children William Balch and family and Margaret Balch and family, and his special caregiver Sharon Hoos. He is predeceased by his wives Dorothy Jaynes (1984) and Mildred Balch (2007). Angus was the last surviving of his 8 brothers and sisters. Angus was a WWII Air Force Veteran. He was also a POW survivor. Angus was a proud member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #300, Mt. Olivet. He was the original owner and designer of Maple Ridge Golf Course in London, and designer of Boyne Mountain Golf Course in Michigan. Angus had a long life, well lived. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Masonic Service Lodge Mount Olivet # 300 being held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Logan Chapel on Thursday, November 1st, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Carrothers officiating. Interment Grove Cemetery. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Angus’ name are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society.
