Obituary of Apostolos (Tony) Stefanidis

Peacefully with his family by his side at LHSC Victoria Hospital, London on Thursday, February 25, 2010 Apostolos (Tony) Stefanidis of London in his 82nd year. Born in Ioannina, Greece, son of the late Stavros and Evthokia Stefanidis (nee Moisoylou). Beloved husband of 48 years to Anastasia (Papayiannis) Stefanidis Dear father of Sia Stefanidis and Steve Stefanidis (Katerina). Loving and proud grandfather of Nektarios Apostolos Stefanidis. Remembered by his brother and sisters, Stefanos Stefanidis (late Vasiliki Stefanidis), Lonodn, Maria Konstantoulakis (late Nikolaos Konstantoulakis), Toronto andAlexandra Haak (Andy), London. Predeceased by brothers and sister, Thrasivalos Stefanidis (late Angeliki), London, Ioannis Stefanidis, Greece, Kostas Stefanidis, Greece and Helen Saimes, Toronto. Apostolos had a special love for his in-laws Gregory and Sophia Ioannou, Koumbaros Kostas Mouhtouris (Mary) and the late Vasilis and Foto Mouhtouris and long time friends and neighbours John and Maria Massa and family. He will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews Presbytera Hara and Father Peter Avgeropoulos, Maria Makrakis (Demetre), Constantine Ioannou, Cia Addy (Craig), Anna Janes (Paul),Stavros Stefanidis(Andrea) and the late Paraskevi Stefanidis. Apostolos was a long standing member and supporter of the London Hellenic Community. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road with Father Elias Drossos and Father Peter Avgeropoulos officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the chapel on Sunday at 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
