Obituary of Michael Hagikiriakos
Michael Hagikiriakos of London, Ontario, in his 84th year, passed away peacefully in his home with loved ones by his side, on April 10, 2020. Beloved husband of Maria for 57 years. Loving father of Kontessa Kalsatos (Theo) and Konstantinos (Gus) Hargikiriakos (Christine). A proud and loving papou to Anthony, Maria and Michael. Dearest brother of Kyriakos, Stergia and Vasilios. Michael was predeceased by his sisters Dionnisia, Anna and Stamatia. Michael will forever be remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He will be remembered as a loving, generous and kind man. Michael, along with Maria, supported various charities and organizations focused on the well-being of disadvantaged children.
He was an active and supportive member of the Greek community and the Greek Orthodox Church.
Michael worked at Labatt Ontario Breweries, in London Ontario, for over 20 years and particularly loved working with his union brothers and sisters on the "Green Crew" and would often recount stories from those years.
The immediate family attended a graveside funeral on April 14, 2020. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on a later date.
The family would like to thank the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the outstanding home support provided by the doctors, nurses and personal support workers at ParaMed.
Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre or the Greek Orthodox Church.
