Obituary of Konstantinos "Gus" Liambotis
Peacefully and unexpectedly surrounded by his family Gus, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020.
Gus was born on Februrary 10th, 1933, Psili Vrisi, Greece. Loving husband of Efstathia "Thoula" of 57 years; father of Julie Liambotis, Pauline (deceased) Liambotis Panagis & her husband Pete, and grandfather of Alexandra and George Panagis, which were his greatest joy. Beloved brother of Petro (deceased) (Evagelia), Georgia (Mike-deceased) Mandronis, Nikki (deceased) (Nick) Ntanos, Vasilios (Shannon) and Ioannis (Demetra).
In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind an extended family which include sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, neighbours, and many friends in the community.
Gus moved to Canada in 1950, shortly after that he met and married his wife Thoula, started a family, which grew and flourished. He worked in a variety of establishments including, The Maple Leaf Restaurant and Holiday Inn. He was an active, longtime member of the Greek Orthodox Community and very involved with the soccer community of London. His smiling face was always present to greet and converse with his family and friends while serving behind the bar at the HCC.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 6th from 6-9pm at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London. Prayers in the Logan Chapel Friday 8:30pm. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 7th, 12 noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road W. London, with +Fr. Konstantine Chatzis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
