Rick, I was visiting my Mom at Amica yesterday and noticed a card in honour of your Dad at the front desk. Im sorry to hear of his passing. While not surprised at this, given recent health, issues, I was interested to read a summary of his life in the obit. Really something! I mentioned this all to Mom, (who is now on the second floor), and she recalled her old neighbour on the 8th floor fondly. She wondered if I knew he was Chinese! Quite a passage for you and your family. My thoughts are with you. All the best John

I will always remember Hank and he will be sorely missed by all of us at Thyssenkrupp Elevator London, its just not the same servicing and maintaining the elevators at Amica without talking with Hank on the top floor ...

Wonderful to have met your dad and you at CCMM in Vancouver maybe on Hanks last trip there. So sorry to discover that he has passed. Sounds like he lived a happy life and shared his enthusiasm with his family. He and my dad, Norman Low, were trained together and the original 13 members of Force 136. May you always have fond memories of Hank.

It is with great sadness that we heard about Hank's passing. A truly remarkable man and Canadian war hero. Hank shared with us his incredible story of courage and sacrifice during WWII as part of an elite team of Canadians fighting to free POWs in Asia. His generosity, humor and zest for life will be missed! To Rick and Sandi and the rest of Hank's beautiful family our deepest condolences and thanks for sharing your Dad with us. We are thinking of you all.

I was so sorry to hear about the recent loss of your father. I remember your dad, my great-uncle Hank, very fondly as my dad's (Ron's) "fun" uncle. He really seemed to enjoy being around children and made us laugh a lot. He spoiled us with a ton of candy once when we were leaving from a visit to your London home. As a Ryerson student in Toronto in 1977-78, I duly carried two loads of laundry every week to and from the laundromat in Hank's heavy canvas Army duffle bag that had his initials marked permanently on it. I've heard many memorable stories about Hank from my dad. What a wonderful, long, and colorful life he had. I have made a small donation to the Veterans Care at Sunnybrook in his memory. I was very glad to hear he had such terrific care there.

On behalf of the Walker Family I want to pass on our most sincere condolences. My wife and I had the great fortune to drop in on Hank a couple of years back while we were on a trip to Ontario. He was as fit, funny and charming as I remember from so many years ago. A great loss for us all. XO

Tina - I'm so very sorry your wonderful father has passed. Hank was one of those rare individuals in my life whom I will always remember with fondness. I was filled with admiration of his colourful life and his spirit for living. He was such a wonderful soul with a personality that continued to shine his entire life and one that so dramatically influenced people in such a positive way, myself included. I used to marvel at his walks all the way up to Westmount Mall from your home and thought how fabulously fit he was he would surely live forever. I'm sorry he didn't make his milestone birthday but he sure did live a long and impactful life. I'm thankful you were all there to be with him as that is a special gift itself. I will be thinking of you and want to send my regrets that I will be unable to attend the visitation as I am in Toronto all week. Sharing your sorrow in remembering an outstanding human being Mr. Hank Wong. Sending you a big hug!
