Obituary of Matilda "Tilly" Fay

With sadness we announce the passing of Tilly Fay on August 20, at the age of 80, after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by husband George (8/13/04) and mother Ethel Howarth (12/88).Tilly is survived by son, Peter Fay (London), step-children Linda Visconti (Athens, GA), Leslie Fay/Rose (Kitchener) and Richard Fay/Betty (Mt. Brydges), as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Tilly has led a very active life. She has been a competitive roller skater and is a past Ontario Seniors Roller Skating champion. Many years were spent volunteering with husband George at the North London Optimist Center on Cheapside Street, manning the roller skating for the Huff & Puff organization. Both she and George were honored by the City of London for their volunteerism. She was an avid golfer and belonged to Ingersoll Golf and Country Club for many years. Her latest pleasure had been ball room dancing. She has been a member of the Barbie Doll Club of London for many years. It was Tilly's wish that there be no visitation or service. She will be cremated and interred at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Our thanks to the staff on the 10th floor, Palliative Care at University Hospital for their kindness and excellent care. If desired, donations may be made in her name to the Diabetes Association of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
