Obituary
Obituary of Rhea Wohl
Rhea Wohl passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Rhea Shaffer on March 9, 1941 in Ottawa. She grew up, the second child of Harold and Frances Shaffer in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. She married the late Teddy Wohl and they made their home and raised their children, the late Michael Wohl (Miriam) and Deena (Keith), in London, Ontario. She moved back to Ottawa in mid-life after her children were grown and stayed until she decided to move, along with her mother and sister to Toronto. She spent her last 15 years there appreciating the opportunity to spend time with grandchildren, both in Toronto and with frequent visits to Vancouver to her other grandchildren. Rhea loved classical music, concerts, live theatre and was happiest when socializing with dear friends and family or doting on her grandchildren. She was passionate about social justice and frequently involved herself in committees that served community needs.
She is survived by her siblings Stan Shaffer (Susanna Uchatius), Jayeson Shaffer (Dailaan), Dorothy Shaffer, daughter Deena Devereaux (Keith), daughter in law Miriam, grandchildren Jonah & Evan Devereaux and Teddy, Hannah and Dani Wohl, and nieces Alannah Shaffer and Alex Edwards.
