I'm very sorry to hear about Shirley's passing. She volunteered in my English as a Second Language class last year. The students loved her! Please accept my sincere condolences at this time. LeAnne

Dear Monteith/O'Neil family, You don't know me but I had a connection to Shirley through ESL volunteering. I am the Volunteer Coordinator and was so pleased to have Shirley as a volunteer for a number of years beginning in 2012. Shirley helped out at Lorne Av. Westminster and Wheable and her warm, enthusiasm was appreciated by both teachers and students alike. I so admired her coming back after her cancer treatments and even preparing feedback for new volunteers who came to one of my orientation sessions. She described her experiences as an ESL volunteer and it was clear how rewarding she found working with our adults. I was very sad to see the news of her passing last night and wanted to send my deepest sympathy to you all and tell you how much we valued Shirley's time with our program.
