Obituary of Georgia Velos
Peacefully in Toronto, on Wednesday August 9, 2017 in her 93rd year. Survived by her children Dr Pamela (Andreas) and Bill (Zenobia); grandchildren Geoff (Rebecca), Amy (Jason) and Adam and great grandson Leo. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Pinio, her brother Dr John Agnos and sisters Elizabeth Condos and Mary Hontos. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.
Georgia was raised in London, Ontario where she graduated from HB Beal Secondary School and then returned there to teach Business Studies subjects for 25 years.
She was very active in the Ontario Business Educators Association, Daughters of Penelope women's service club of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, St Paul's Anglican Cathedral and finally, Christ Church Port Stanley. She traveled the world, attended plays and concerts in London, spent as much time as possible at her cottage in Port Stanley and most of all loved to visit with her grandchildren. Georgia lived an active life enjoying bowling, exercising, gardening, and swimming.
The family will receive friends at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street (between Waterloo and Colborne Streets) Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday from 1pm until the start of the funeral service at 2 p m.
Reception to follow the funeral service and private family burial.
