Obituary of Beatrice East

At Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, on Saturday, February 19, 2011, Beatrice East, of London, "Slipped away in a whisper". At 95 years of age and after a long fight, her strong and giving heart stopped. Her daughters, Linda (Israel), Esther (London), Debbie (Toronto) and granddaughter Laura (Ajax) were at her side during her last journey. Beatrice guided the process for us as she did throughout her life. She always thought of others before herself – including ensuring her passing was peaceful and surrounded in an aura of love. She leaves us with her love of life, dancing and music which she embraced, encompassing all those who met her. "Her dance card was always full." She will be sadly missed by her 3 daughters (and spouses), 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and her extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Or Shalom Synagogue, 534 Huron Street, London, on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Ammos Chorney officiating. Interment in Or Shalom Cemetery.
