Obituary of Naomi Elizabeth Saunders
In her 96th year, Naomi Elizabeth (Pat) Little Saunders.
Born February 28, 1917 in London, Ontario. Daughter of the late Honourable Edgar Sydney Little and Helen Gibson Weld. Predeceased by brothers Alan Waldie and David Edmund. Survived by brother Derek Sydney of Forest, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late William Alexander Saunders (1997). Cherished mother and mother-in-law to Barbara Elizabeth Saunders Murray and Kim Lee Christopher Murray of Wallaceburg and Deborah Lynn Saunders Bisnaire and Raymond Bisnaire of London. Treasured grandmother to Amanda Lynn Bisnaire Chelchowski (Josh) of London, Ian Alexander Saunders Murray (Kara) of Kingsville and Emily Nicole Bisnaire of London. Proud great grandmother to Abigail Nicole Chelchowski. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Naomi was a proud graduate of Miss Matthews School, London Central Collegiate and The Hospital for Sick Children (1940). She served as a nursing sister at #10 Canadian Hospital from 1942 – 45 in England Belgium and France. She spent her last years at Parkwood Hospital where she received excellent care, and found a love for the arts. In lieu of flowers , the family request that donations be made to Parkwood Hospital, Veterans Care Program.
Cremation has taken place.
Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 10 – 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
