Obituary of William "Bill" Young

“Absent from the body present with the Lord” Following a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer Disease, Bill Young, of London, in his 87th year, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, April 18th 2009. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Athena, of 60 years March 8, 2004. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Athena Faye and Don Bilyea of Lambeth and Mary-Anne and Joe Hall of Aylmer. Loving granddad to Paul and Laurie Bilyea, Becky Bilyea, Anabel Schloesser, Michael Hall, Matthew Hall, and Jennifer and Greg Adams as well as his 2 precious great-grandchildren Emily and Isaac Bilyea.Bill is survived by his sister Dora (Don) Phillips of Newmarket and predeceased by a sister Audrey (Nolan) and brothers Norman, Jim and Vern. He will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Barbara (Whitburn) and Helen (Vickers) as well as brothers-in-law John Manax, Dr. Stanley Manax, and Dr. William Manax, along with several nieces and nephews. Bill was manager of the Greyhound Bus Terminal in London for 35 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas (between Waterloo and Colborne) on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Hillside Church, 250 Commissioners Rd. E. on Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert W. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Garfat, Dr. J. Wells and Dr. M. Borrie for their special care and to the staff at Parkwood Hospital, 2 Perth, for their dedication and for treating Dad as one of their own.
