Obituary of Chris Catsiroumpas
Peacefully, with his family by his side at University Hospital on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, Chris passed at the age of 79 , after a brief illness. Beloved husband for 51 years to Panayiota (Pena) (nee Aggelopoulos). Dearly loved father of Georgia and Gabe Valente, Mary and Kirk Farfaras, Bob and John. Devoted grandfather/pappou of Michael, Daniel, Nicolaos and Dianna. Predeceased by his parents, Haralambos and Georgia, and his siblings Panayioti and Vasiliki. Dear brother-in-law to Georgia and the late Peter Psellas, Gus and Helen Aggelopoulos, Louie and Demetra Doris all of London, Vasiliki and Panayioti Avdi and Eleni and Thanassi Georgopoulos of Greece. Uncle Chris will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Chris immigrated to Canada in 1968 from Greece. He was a business owner at the Covent Garden Market for 38 years. Chris loved socializing with his many friends and customers at the market. He had a happy, fun-loving personality and will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.), on Thursday from 6– 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road W. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Elias Drossos officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the Logan Chapel at 8 p.m. Thursday. Donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family.
