Obituary of Michael Junji Ikeno
It is with heavy hearts and the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Junji Ikeno on Thursday, July 7th, 2016, in his 29th year.
Mike is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife Paula Ann Ikeno and their two special fur babies, River and Elly. Cherished son of Don and Su Ikeno. Devoted brother to Riye (Chris). Dearly loved son-in-law of Chris and Jane Smith and brother in law to Christine Smith. Uncle Mike will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews, Maeda, Greg, Daulton and Coreena. Greatly missed by grandmothers Mabel & Memeré. Forever in the hearts of many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his name sake and loving grandfather Junji Ikeno, grandmother Toshiko Ikeno and uncle Tom Guzinski. Also predeceased by Paula's uncle Mike Smith and gram Wardell.
Mike was a dedicated hockey coach with the London Junior Knights organization along with roller hockey and will be missed throughout the hockey community for all the young children he coached and mentored. Mike was a gentle soul who had a great love for animals and would go to great lengths to help animals in need.
Visitation will be held at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Logan Chapel.
Interment in Straffordville Cemetery, Straffordville, Ontario.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to the London Humane Society or through the family to the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund in memory of Mike Ikeno.
