Obituary of John Cromwell Cameron Wilson

Peacefully on May 2, 2014 in his 91st year. Born in London to John Cameron Wilson and Bertha (nee Cromwell), he served in the Second World War as Navigator and Special Operations Officer in 101 squadron RAF based at Ludford Magna. He completed his medical training at the University of Western Ontario and in Belfast, Ireland. He practiced surgery for forty years in Montreal, London and Strathroy, Ontario. Medical sabbatical led him to Tanzania, Africa. A passionate farmer, he spent many happy retirement years on his cherished farm west of London, raising Suffolk sheep and tending gardens. He was predeceased in 2010 by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Wynona Aileen (nee Cronyn). He is survived by his four children, Deirdre Cameron Biggar (London), Jenifer Cameron Duplan (Lobo), John Cronyn Cameron Wilson (Hyde Park), and Malcolm Colin Cameron Wilson (Eugene, Ore.), and by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Remembered as a gentle, caring man of compassion, integrity and generosity, he will be greatly missed by family and his wonderful caregivers. His sharp memory, keen intellect and great sense of humour kept life very interesting for him and those around him. In keeping with his wishes, a celebration will be held later this summer in his honour.
