Obituary of Lawrance Eugene Downes
Lovingly joined his wife and best friend Nancy on March 6, 2012 in his 89th year. Lawrance will be greatly missed by his children Diana (Brad) Wilson, Sharon (Don) Cook, and sons David and Brian, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lawrance Downes served for his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was admired greatly by friends and family. An extremely smart man, Lawrance worked for General Motors as an electrical engineer for 25 years and worked for Westinghouse for 23 years. He was a great dad and grandfather. Along with numerous hobbies Lawrance will be remembered for his avid gardening and photography. A special thanks to Brian Andrews for being there when we needed him. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo & Colborne St.) on Friday, March 9th, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Logan Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday March 10th, 2012 with Rev. Phil Uptgrove officiating. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
