I fondly remember the many visits with you and the family, celebrating special holidays in your home in Thorncrest Village - I loved visiting there - the house with many different rooms and memories on display in each one. You used to laugh more in those days, more of a carefree laugh than I've heard for a very long time. I hope you find peace now in Heaven, alongside your beloved Arthur. I'll miss you Aunt Pat!

To the Despard Family, Please accept our condolences. Pat was a wonderful and unique person and will be missed. She was one of the first Thorncresters to welcome us to the neighbourhood and she made us feel so welcome and excited to be part of such a special community. I was very inspired by her love of the neighbourhood and all the hard work she put into her volunteer work in the community, especially the newsletter, which we all enjoyed reading. She was a one of a kind - a I have many fond memories of her. I loved her witty sense of humour. She was an incredible woman! Sincerely Sue Haight

Please accept my condolences in the loss of your mother. My husband Jim and I worked with Pat for many years on the Board of what is now Community Living Toronto, and Jim was instrumental in facilitating Caroline's career. Jim passed away on December 29, 2010, and like Pat he was a fighter for people with special needs - although Pat was feistier! We spent many hours amd meetings together debating the best approach to take in the provision of services, and I have good memories of those discussions. Pat was strong-willed, outspoken, and a great advocate. May she now rest in peace. Sincerely, Diane Turner

What very sad news indeed! We were so sorry to learn of your Mum's passing and extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your families. Pat was a force to be reckoned with for sure! She contributed so much over many years in thorncrest village and many committees there and elsewhere benefitted from her passion and dedication to the causes she believed in. She cared about people. We'll never forget her lovely, wild gardens and warm hospitality too. We count ourselves lucky to have known her. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. We are with you in spirit. Sincere condolences, Tom and Linda
