Dear Eunice and family, I was very sad to read of Michael's passing in the Globe and Mail last Sat. I met Michael on the tour to Israel a few years ago. I found him to be very intelligent, interesting, with a good sense of humour and nothing got him down in spite of some health concerns. When he spoke of Eunice to me it was with such respect, love, kindness and understanding. He spoke warmly about his children too. I always enjoyed hearing what Michael had to say about things, being so bright he really added so much value to our group in Israel. My deepest condolences. Linda Freedman

Another "larger-than-life" passing: Michael was a teacher of mine in anesthesiology at the Victoria Hospital in 1983 and we all remember him very well for his wit, vigor, and inquiring mind. I'm very sad to hear of his passing and pass on my condolences to his family: Michael will not be forgotten.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I was glad to read that he had many good years retired in Bayfield. I often think of my parents, Will and Honey Archibald, and remember how much they enjoyed your company. I know family and friends will have many treasured memories of Mike.

To Mrs Diamond. I meet Michael when I mentored him and Cassia for St John therapy program at Extender Care. At that time i thought what a guy he is 80 years old not in the best health performing a service to the elderly most of which were younger than him and what a good job he did. Three months ago my wife diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour . The wonderful letter we received at that time from you and Michael did help to reduce the sock . it was avery big sock because Val was in very good health at that time Again your letter showing type of caring person he was. , Val is receiving palliative at home , we can do this as my daughter is a nurse , we expect Val will die within few days., So I do have an a feeling for what you are going at this timel We will be thinking of you in prayers.,

I have such fond memories of Michael and the Or Shalom Theatre Troupe. He would inevitably crack us up during rehearsals and his expressive facial expressions were priceless; it was always great fun to be in a production with him. Wishing you all much strength during this most difficult and sad time. May you find comfort in so many many fond memories.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of Dr. Diamond. For a brief time he was my dialysis partner sitting beside me. We had many delightful chats and his smile would light up the room even when he wasn't feeling his best.I will always remember him saying "I am going to walk in to dialysis like you one day". May memories surround and bring you peace.

Cindy, my friend, I am so sorry that you have had to say your final good-bye to your Dad - he sounds like he was such a fine person. (I didn't realize they'd lived so close by.) Certainly he (and your Mum)created a very special daughter - luckily for us. I am really sorry that I have two commitments that I can't get out of that keep me in the Goderich area this afternoon, but Heinz will be there to represent our family. After all of the final farewell ceremonies are over, I wish you a safe trip back to your wonderful lakeside home and its healing environment and a happier rest of the summer. With a big hug Wendy

Dear Eunice, I was so sad to see Michael's obituary in the Globe & Mail today, although I had been told by Andrew before he left for Europe to maybe expect it. I only hope that Michael wasn't in pain at the end and that you had time together to say everything that you wanted. It seems like the end of an era with Tony also now gone. You and Evelyn will no doubt share many a story and tear, and hopefully also a laugh together when recalling your men. I have such fond memories of Michael and wish you all the support and love you need at this time. And you are right...he did have a beautiful smile. Sincerely, SAM
