Obituary of Richard "Rick" Berg
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 of Richard “Rick” Iner Berg in his 48th year. Survived by his sons Spencer and Alexander. Beloved partner of Martha Bennett. Dear son to Audrey Dorland (Norman) and predeceased by father Iner Berg. Brother to Lawrence (Joanne), Terrence (Corla), Darren (Kelly) and step-brother to Kent (Judy) Dorland. Missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on December 23, 1962. In 1969 his family moved to Paynton, SK where they owned and operated an Esso Station. Rick left the family business, graduated from University of Saskatchewan and went on to pursue his love of the automotive aftermarket industry through a 23 year career with 3M Canada. Rick’s wit, humour and zest for life were hallmarks of who he was; son, father, soulmate, brother, friend, colleague and 3Mer. Rick gave of himself freely and as result, all who knew him were enriched by the connections he made. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 472 Richmond St. (corner of Richmond St. & Queen’s Ave.), London at 1:00 p.m. A reception in the celebration of Rick’s life will follow the service at St. Paul’s. Expressions of remembrance can be made to the Epilepsy Canada National Office or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. LOGAN FUNERAL HOME, 371 Dundas Street, (519) 433-6181, entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca.
