Obituary of Joyce Myfanwy Childs
Peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 Joyce Myfanwy Childs (Hepburn) of London in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Herbert Childs. Devoted daughter of the late John “Jack” Marshall Hepburn and Hannah Jane Hepburn. Loving mother of H. John and his wife Gay Childs of London. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by “her girls” Marcia Lyn, Amy Joyce and her husband Chris Barrett, Joanne Elizabeth and her husband Sean Stynes, Lori Ann Childs and Robbie Barrett and great grandchildren Leah, Hayden and Claire. Dearest “sissy” to Jim and his wife Gladys Hepburn and Lil and her late husband John Kedwell. Loving aunt to Dennis (Donna) and Bob (Karma) Hepburn and Peter Kedwell and Mary Ellen (Thom) Wigle. Great aunt to Jonathan, Kaila, Miranda, Emily, Hannah and Martin. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by friends and family both near and far, including her many cousins whether they be first, second, third, once, twice or three times removed. Joyce was a dedicated member of Bishop Cronyn Memorial Church since early childhood A proud employee of Victoria Hospital, Joyce held the position of Director of Personnel and was founder of Vic’s volunteer program. Joyce’s family would like to extend a warm thank-you to the nursing and support staff of the 4th floor at Chelsea Park Nursing Home. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 317 Dundas Street (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Bishop Cronyn Memorial Church, 422 William St. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Leighton officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Online condolences www.loganfh.ca A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Joyce Childs.
